CROSS WHEEL

G923 Force Feedback on macOS

Yes, force feedback works on macOS now. The Logitech G923 has always been recognized by macOS as a game controller — steering, pedals, and buttons work natively. What was missing is force feedback. CrossWheel fixes that.

What changed

Logitech only supports the G923 on Windows through G HUB, so on a Mac the wheel would turn but never push back. CrossWheel talks directly to the G923 over USB and bridges force feedback from racing games running in CrossOver or Sikarugir to the wheel hardware. No Logitech software needed.

What works

All effects are synthesized by a 500 Hz mixer for smooth, responsive feedback.

Which G923?

CrossWheel supports the PlayStation/PC version of the G923. The Xbox/PC version uses a different USB protocol and is not currently supported — if you have one, get in touch.

What about TrueForce?

TrueForce — Logitech's high-frequency audio-driven feedback — is a proprietary protocol that requires G HUB and per-game integration on Windows. It isn't available on macOS. What you get with CrossWheel is the complete standard DirectInput force feedback that every racing game uses, which is the same feedback the G923 produces on Windows in non-TrueForce titles.

Tested games

CrossWheel works with any DirectInput FFB game running in CrossOver, including Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista 2, Project Cars, Dirt Rally 2.0, Wreckfest, BeamNG.drive, Euro Truck Simulator 2, and Live for Speed.

How to get started

  1. Get CrossWheel — one-time purchase, free trial available
  2. Plug in your G923 (no G HUB or other Logitech software needed)
  3. Open CrossWheel, go to the Wine tab, select your CrossOver bottle, and click Install
  4. Launch your game — force feedback is active automatically
